The Orange Bowl Committee Inc., (OBC) is aided by a core group of volunteers, "Ambassadors," whose main function are to assist with and provide support at the Capital One Orange Bowl game, Orange Bowl Events and Orange Bowl Youth Sports programs. The mission of the Orange Bowl Ambassador program presented by Panera Bread is to enhance the experience for all the fans, participating teams and media coming to South Florida for the annual Orange Bowl game. Whether you are a football fan, or like welcoming visitors to our community, there is something for everyone!
 
Now you can be part of this South Florida tradition! Whether you are working at the welcome centers at the local airports and hotels, assisting the marketing staff with Orange Bowl promotions, or even assisting with many of the special events, including the Basketball Classic, Halftime Show and the Capital One Orange Bowl, our volunteer assistance is crucial in creating a series of sports and entertainment events the whole family can enjoy!    

Goals of the Orange Bowl Ambassador Program,

The volunteer program must strive to accomplish the following goals:

  • To provide an enthusiastic and warm welcome to guests visiting South Florida for the Capital One Orange Bowl and Orange Bowl Events
  • To answer questions and provide information to visitors
  • To contribute to the general atmosphere and excitement surrounding the Capital One Orange Bowl and Orange Bowl Events
  • To provide necessary support for ancillary events in connection with the Capital One Orange Bowl and Orange Bowl Events

 Policies

  • Volunteers must be at least 16 and 17 years old to participate in supervised, controlled situations, and they must also provide adequate proof of their ages.
  • Volunteers must be at least eighteen (18) years of age or older to participate in Capital One Orange Bowl game related events, to include bowl week events (but not limited to):
    • Team Arrivals
    • Courtesy Car Movement
    • VIP Events
    • Game Day Events
    • Capital One Orange Bowl
  • Any individuals with driving responsibilities or that may be required to serve any alcoholic beverages as part of their duties must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
  • Each applicant must complete a waiver of liability and indemnification agreement before volunteering.
  • Ambassadors must be able to provide their own transportation to their assigned shift
  • Opportunities to volunteer will be provided on an equal opportunity basis without regard to age, sex, race, religion or disabilities.

Q: What do Ambassadors do?
A: Ambassadors are fundamental to the success of our events and programs and are one of the main reasons why the Orange Bowl continues to be successful year after year. Our ambassadors assist the staff with game day operations at the Capital One Orange Bowl, at the various ancillary events, and also with Orange Bowl Youth Sports activities.

Q: When are your events?
A: Most of our events are in the fall during football season; however we will have various opportunities throughout the year. The dates and times vary by event.

Q: How many events do I have to work?
A: You can work as many or as few as you like.

Q: Do I get free tickets to the Capital One Orange Bowl as an Ambassador?
A: No.

Q: Do I have to pay to volunteer?
A: No.

Q: How do I sign up for the events?
A: All potential volunteers must complete the Orange Bowl Ambassador Program, presented by Panera Bread application found here. NOTE: You will be redirected to VOLUNTEER MATRIX to complete this application. The information collected on the Ambassador application is used only to process your application at the OBC. It is hereby understood that information you have provided is confidential, privileged, and exempt from disclosure unless required by law. All Ambassador applicants will be subjected to complete a criminal background screening.
 
Upon acceptance into the Orange Bowl Ambassador Program, presented by Panera Bread, you will have access to all of the Orange Bowl Volunteer Opportunities.  Once you have added an activity, it will appear in your schedule where you will need to confirm your attendance. Please note that you can still remove a shift once you have confirmed, but only up to 48 hours prior to the start of that shift.

Getting Registered

The registration only takes a few minutes. Once you have completed it and have been approved, you will be notified and given access to the activity signup page where you can immediately begin creating your personalized Orange Bowl Ambassador, presented by Panera Bread profile and schedule. Once you have registered, you may continue adding or removing shifts from your schedule at any time.
