Orange Bowl to Host Free Youth Football Clinic at FIU
On Sunday, July 22, in partnership with FIU and head football coach Butch Davis, the Orange Bowl Youth Football Alliance (OBYFA) presented by MetroPCS will host the OBYFA Football Clinic, presented by MetroPCS.
The clinic, which is free for boys and girls ages 5-14, will focus on proper safety, development, good sportsmanship and education. Coach Davis and his assistant coaches will run participants through offensive, defensive and agility drills, including proper techniques to promote on-field football safety.
“The Orange Bowl is proud to partner with FIU and coach Davis to host this event for these young athletes,” Orange Bowl Committee President and Chair Sean Pittman announced. “In the world of football today, safety is paramount! Our camp offers these athletes the opportunity to perfect their skills, and learn safety techniques that will ultimately make them better football players.”
Entering its 20th season, the Orange Bowl Youth Football Alliance presented by MetroPCS has more than 15,000 youth participants, playing in eight leagues across South Florida, from north of Lake Okeechobee to Key West. Since its inception in 1999, the Orange Bowl has invested more than $7 million in youth sports in South Florida.
