Sean Pittman Elected Orange Bowl Second Vice Chair

Corporate attorney and governmental consultant Sean Pittman was recently elected as second vice chair of the Orange Bowl Committee at the organization’s annual elections in February.

"For more than 10 years, it has been my privilege and honor to serve on the Orange Bowl Committee — and, now, I am humbled that my fellow OBC members have entrusted me to serve in an even deeper capacity as second vice chair,” said Pittman. “I’ve enjoyed the meaningful opportunity to witness and participate in the vital mission work of the OBC, beyond college football, that actively and positively engages our youth in healthy pursuits, while also providing a healthy boost to South Florida’s economy.  I look forward to working with our dedicated membership as the OBC continues to serve our community so well."

Pittman has been a member of the Orange Bowl Committee since 2005 and has served on a number of subcommittees including Football Host, Marketing, Governmental Relations and Team Outings. Most recently, he served as the chair for the organization’s Ad Hoc Strategic Planning Committee, charged with examining the future of the Orange Bowl Committee within the new College Football Playoff structure and providing recommendations to the OBC for one of South Florida’s oldest and most anticipated annual events, the Capital One Orange Bowl.

Noted as one of the “Top 25 Most Influential People in Tallahassee” according to the Tallahassee Democrat, Pittman is the founder and CEO of Pittman Law Group, P.L., a corporate law and governmental consulting firm with offices in Tallahassee, Riviera Beach and Miami. In addition, Pittman is the President of ESPMedia Productions Corporation, a full service branding firm. He is also the co-host of “The Usual Suspects,” a weekly political talk show, which airs in north Florida and southern Georgia.

Over the years, Pittman has distinguished himself as philanthropist and civil servant. He is actively involved in several organizations including the Hancock Bank Board of Directors; Founder and Chairman of the Big Bend Minority Chamber of Commerce; Florida Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division; Leadership Florida; National Bar Association; Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.; Florida State University Circle of Gold; Florida State University Burning Spears; Sigma Pi Phi Boule; J.R.E. Lee Masonic Lodge; and PHA Shriners.

Pittman graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science in 1990 and went on to earn his Juris Doctor degree in 1994 from the Florida State University College of Law.

President and chair Lee Stapleton leads the Orange Bowl Committee in the current 2015-16 campaign with president-elect and chair-elect Michael Chavies and first vice chair Don Slesnick slated to follow her to the president and chair position preceding Pittman.

Pittman is now in line to serve as president and chair of the Orange Bowl Committee for the 2018-19 season. During his presidency, he will oversee the Orange Bowl Committee as it hosts the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Capital One Orange Bowl for the second time.
