Third Annual Orange Bowl Health & Wellness Fair Draws Record Crowds
For the third consecutive year, the Orange Bowl Health & Wellness Fair presented by Sunshine Health took a hands-on approach to promoting healthy lifestyles in the South Florida community. On Saturday, August 8, the fair welcomed more than 2,000 people to the Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex, breaking the all-time attendance record for the event.
Kicking off the fair, Miami Gardens Mayor Oliver Gilbert III headlined with a welcome message to all attendees. Throughout the day, the main stage hosted presentations from vendors and special guests, including Miami native and NBA basketball player James Jones. More than 60 vendors provided free health screenings, haircuts, fitness classes, interactive demonstrations, backpacks and other essentials for children heading back to school. Sunshine Health, presenting sponsor of the Orange Bowl Health & Wellness Fair, was one of the many exhibitors providing free information and services. One Beat CPR + AED provided free CPR sessions throughout the day.
Along with the exhibitors, the event provided activities for the entire family, including a youth football clinic, live performances, music, games, raffle giveaways, bounce houses, dance competitions and face painting for children. A variety of local food trucks and vendors provided food options, including the debut of the Orange Bowl Ice Cream Truck.
